Only two more sleeps until Halllloweeeeen and I’m over here scrambling to squeeze in all the spookiness I had planned for my littles! If you follow along with us over on instagram we did sneak in a Halloween pumpkin decorating party complete with a happy hour for the moms (YASSSS!) and backyard movie night for the kids. You girls sent lots of DMs when I shared snaps of it so breaking down all the details and photo overload for you girls here today!
Happy Hour for the Moms
For our Halloween pumpkin decorating party I wanted to also make sure there was a little something for the moms so I included a fun little happy hour for us too. 😉
First things first, no festive gathering is complete without the BOOOOOze ;). I thought it would be fun, since we’re transitioning into Fall, to do a blind red wine tasting. I bought 5 different red wines and put them in these canvas bags so they could sip and see which blend they liked best. I’m sure most of us can relate that we don’t discriminate when it comes to wine but it was a fun and playful element to get into the Fall spirit!
Bring on the Munchies
Next up…. bring on the munchies! I always love having something set up for grabbing when guests arrive and a big oversized charcuterie is always a hit! Honestly they’re so easy to throw together in a hurry and the secret is the more options the better. Just pile them on. If you want a guide to recreate it check out my post from last month… How to Create an Epic Cheese board (also shared an item checklist too). For the kids, I ordered pizza but put together something fun for a special treat during the movie night (scroll down).
Don’t forget to add in the spooky elements!
Backyard Movie Night
Over the Summer we threw a backyard movie night and it was such a hit that I knew I wanted to do it again and Halloween seemed like the perfect time. We also had an oversized inflatable pool (also love this one) from the Summer so we just inflated it, tossed in tons of pillows and blankets and used it as a little seating station that the kids went NUTS for. (See the projector and screen we have on my previous backyard movie night post HERE.)
For the pumpkin decorating I suggest keeping it super easy and as mess-free as possible. I bought these pumpkin face stickers (these stickers are also cute), sticker gems (these are also super cute and similar), and these top-rated fast-drying chubby paint sticks all from Amazon. (And FYI – I would skip the glitter glue as it took way too long to dry.)
And a little… Trick or Treat Yo’Self
And it’s not officially a Halloween party without the candy right?! A candy charcuterie is SO fun and I’ve been dying to put one together! You should have seen the kids’ eyes when this came out! I brought little baggies so they could fill them up to have with their popcorn in the inflatable pool for the movie night!
And that’s how we kicked off Halloween week! Happy early Halloween to all my Honeybee Fam!

You should really be an events planner! I love how creative you are. The blind red wine tasting sounds like something I want to try this weekend! That inflatable pool idea for the kiddos is just such a good idea. Happy belated Halloween, Andee!
