After turning 40 last month and sharing the Cabo content, I had some requests for workouts and diet so I wanted to bring back my Honeybee Health posts for you girls! I shared my go-to healthy snacks on-the-go, but I also wanted to give you an update on my workouts lately. I feel like with 40 creeping up, I definitely was trying to kick up my workouts a bit, so I’ve been working out 5 days a week, doing a mix of strength and cardio. Here’s what a typical week of workouts looks like for me…
Pilates
I started Pilates last year and I cannot rave about it enough! I take Lagree which isn’t the traditional style of Pilates. This style of Pilates is really slow and controlled movements that target all of those little muscles that don’t get used as often. It burns but it’s so sculpting and toning – I absolutely love it! I do it twice a week and honestly, I’m not sure I can do it more than that because it is so challenging – even a year later.
Cardio
My OG treadmill finally died so I took your recs and got a Peloton that is being delivered this week! But before my treadmill broke, I would hop on it a couple of times a week and do a mix of jogging and sprint intervals for at least 40 minutes. I would love to hear who your favorite instructor or classes are on the Peloton and I’ll share mine after I start using it!
Classes on ClassPass
A couple of years ago, I started using the ClassPass app. I feel like it was a really great way to experience all the local gyms and do different workouts depending on my schedule or what I felt like that week. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for new studios in your area. I started mixing in boxing once a week and HIIT classes from it!
Outdoor Workouts
If it’s nice out, I’ll run down by the beach or do the stairs outside. I’m also sprinkling in pickleball whenever I can. I still really love it – it’s fun to get out there with my friends and I feel like we actually get a pretty good workout now that we’re all getting better!
