Alright my loves, today I’m sharing all of OUR back to school favorites with you girls! I say ”ours” because gone are the days of the kids wearing whatever I decide to put them in. Do you remember when Ava used to let me dress her like a tomboy?! Now it’s pink, sparkles and anything emoji (lawwwrd help us ;))! I’ve definitely caved into letting her just dress herself (which I think is great for confidence building too) so today I’m sharing TONS of our mom and kiddo approved back-to-school favorites….
Someone was pretty pumped for his new Starwars Lunch box ($9!)
I’m sure I have mentioned it before but I’ll say it again…shopping for boys is SO much fun! Luca is at a stage where he will normally wear whatever I pick out for him with the exception of full on denim. Neither of our kids are a fan of denim unless it a super stretchy pair like THIS PAIR which Luca wears on the daily. I will say on Ava I tend to spend a little more money on her clothes but Luca… he seriously destroys an outfit in point two seconds so I really do try to get the majority of his basic tee’s and play shorts from Target and HM. I’ll spend a little more money on shoes for him for sure (because I am a kid shoe junkie…and think I have a mild addiction ;)) and also outwear because he gets so much wear out of them.
So here are some of OUR back-to-school favorites for…..
Boys
Luca (like his mother ;)) is ALL about the jogger life. I think 70% of his bottoms are comfy style joggers. I don’t mind one bit because there’s no morning battle getting dressed and they’re cute too. I especially love the drop crotch styles above and am obsessed with These Raw Hem Khakis (something I paid a little more for because the style is so unique and they can be dressed up too).
Boys Outerwear
Boys Shoes
Back Packs and Lunch Boxes
As mentioned above, I had a weakness for kids shoes and seriously can’t stop! His Top Five Worn Pairs are These Native Shoes (not by my choice…He picked out the Slime Green color of course but he wears them EVERYDAY so I’m eyeing the black and gray pair for a nice compromise 😉 Also he doesn’t wear those to School because they do have little holes in them. Those are just a great throw on and go Summer option but he wears them to death so I thought I would share in case you mama’s were thinking about them.
His most worn school shoes are These Adidas (I’m obsessed and everyone in the family owns them too -on sale HERE under $40 now and love them in THIS COLOR too), This Classic Vans Slip On, These High Top Chuck Taylors (seriously one of my all time favorite pairs and so easy to throw on and go!) and These Low Top Vans and of course These Classic Stan Smiths (also available in blue back HERE).
Alright let’s talk For the Girls….
As mentioned above, the kids have a HEAVY hand in what they wear (especially Ava). I just pick and chose my battles and forcing the kids to wear something is just not one of them these days. Not to mention I used to spend so much on her clothes only for them to sit untouched in the closet. She still likes me to “help” her pick out her outfits but it’s more of a compromise these days. I try to surprise her with options that I like and know she will LOVE. Which is basically anything pink, sparkly or emjoi’d. So here are some of OUR favorites for the….
Girls
Girls Outwear
Girl Shoes
Backpacks and Lunch Boxes
Hope this was helpful for you mamas!
and sorry for the delay on this post (said I’d have it up on Monday and here it is Thursday) but to be completely honest this mama feels like she is drowning lately. I have so many things I want to share on and do on The Honeybee but between finishing up our new home, carpooling the kids to all the different camps and activities and prepping for a last call Summer trip… I feel like I’m being pulled a million different ways right now. So sorry again for the delay and will be back to regular posting as soon as the new house is done!
Any chance you will still be posting your workout or fitness routine for your next post? With your nee house move on full swing, kids going back to school, and summer trip plans, I totally understand if you cannot post your fitness routine! Your burning calories like crazy just from mommy duties alone. Hang in there mama.
