How I’m Pampering to Prep for Valentine’s Day

I’m so excited to be partnering up with Braun today and talking about their Gillette Venus Silk-expert 3 IPL, an at-home permanent hair reduction device. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I’m vowing to spend a little more time pampering myself and this device has truly been a game changer in my beauty routine.

One of the things that’s changed most since having kids, especially with how insane our schedules are lately, is the time I personally have for myself. I’ve always said I was a low-key, high-maintenance kinda girl, and that’s had to become even MORE true with the kiddos. I’ve had to get smart with my beauty routine and general upkeep since I simply don’t have that much time to get it all done at leisure. (RIP solo beauty days full of manicures and facials LOL). But I wouldn’t trade it for the world – I just have to focus on beauty rituals or products that deliver what I’m looking for, without needing to devote hours away from the kids. I’m sure many of you can relate and that’s why I am so excited to share the Venus Silk-expert 3 with you girls.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I wanted to step things up a bit for date night with the hubby. We try to do a date night once a week in general, but I like to do something even more special for the holiday. Gotta keep things interesting after so many years together right??

So as I’m personally prepping for date night, I’ve been experimenting for about 4 months now with the Gilette Venus Silk-expert 3 powered by Braun. I’ve always gone back and forth with waxing and shaving throughout my life, and both kinda suck to be honest. At least it’s always been one of my least favorite upkeep routines. The Venus Silk-expert 3 is an at-home hair reduction device and I’ve become so obsessed with it. I’m all about soft, smooth and clear skin and this product has really made a huge difference.

It uses cutting-edge technology called IPL (intense pulsed light) to essentially remove hair at the root level, keeping your skin smooth and hairless. But really, after using it for 8-12 weeks, you’ll see a permanent reduction in hair growth for long-lasting smooth skin. SO good right?! And when you don’t have time to wash your hair let alone shave every day, it’s a godsend. It’s quick, you can do it at home, it’s super low maintenance, and it’s long-lasting. It only takes me about 10 minutes per treatment and it’s SO simple to use too. I’ll be honest I was a little nervous at first and thought that it might hurt. While some people say they felt a slight discomfort, it honestly didn’t hurt me at all. It just felt like a brief warming sensation.

To use you just drag the device over the body part you’re working with and you’ll see flashing red lights as you begin to use it. The product can read your skintone with a technology called SensoAdapt™, which senses how much light to push out. So far I’ve been using it on my legs and bikini area and I’ve definitely noticed less hair and smoother skin! Plus it’s FDA approved!

So, I wanted to share this with you girls since I’m sure I’m not the only one looking for less time consuming devices that still let us feel ready for V-day or just life in general. I think you girls will really like it – if you’re interested in buying one of the Venus Silk-expert 3’s yourself, it’s available at Walmart. Here’s to way less time in the shower and saying BYE to waxing, can I get an amen?! 🙂

Whether going on a first date, hanging with your girls, or a hubby, I hope you have a fun Valentine’s Day!

  1. I’m just about to buy one of these, because of YOU. ♥️♥️♥️ Do you know why they sent you the 3 series rather than the brand new 5 series? Any idea what the difference is? So so excited to start using this! From what I can tell, the difference appears to be the lifetime number of flashes, but maybe I’m missing other things. Thoughts?
