I raved about Manuka honey last month on Instagram and thought I would share with you ladies on here as well.
Manuka honey is the most researched, most powerful medicinal honey known today. It has the ability to penetrate skin tissue and treat infections beneath the skin. The list of benefits of this stuff goes on and on!!
It can be used to treat eczema, stomach ulcers, acid reflux, taken for sore throats and colds, and applied to minor cuts and burns to promote natural healing and reduce acne scars. Its also been known to increase the production of collagen and improve the skin’s elasticity! (which I’m all about 😉
You can purchase this at most health food stores but beware it will set you back about $25 to $35 a jar. I purchased mine from Whole Foods and it has lasted quite awhile. You can have it by the spoonful, on bread, with tea or use it topically. Make sure when you buy it to look for the word “ACTIVE” and a “UMF level” of 16+ up to 24+. The higher the UMF level, the higher the health benefits of Manuka Honey.
"Its also been known to increase the production of collagen and improve the skin's elasticity! (which I'm all about ;)"

Cool! I've been using coconut oil…do you put this on your face?
Im just eating it right now but planning on using it as a mask soon!
Oh wow, thanks for sharing. I will definitely be picking this up next time I'm at the natural food store. What do you use it for? I'd eat it and probably make a face mask with it… hmm.
Im just eating it right now for all the internal benefits but planning on using it as a mask as well!

Thanks for another sesnsational health rec Andee! We were just out in Colonial Williamsburg (Va) and on the little tour, I stopped in the apothecary/doctor area and it was absolutely incredible to learn about all of the uses for honey. It was even used to treat burns back in the day! Nothing like an amazing, natural cure-all.
yes isn't that crazy! There are so many uses with this stuff and it tastes good too 😉
So great to know! Could you tell us how you use it? Thank you!
I'm currently just eating it (by the spoonful, on toast or in my tea) but I plan on using a thin layer as a mask soon to reap the collagen boosting benefits 😉
Ooo thanks for sharing! I'll definitely try this!

This would be Ok for a child to have too right? My youngest son battles excema.
I just came across your blog and am loving your posts. This post however caught my attention when I saw the word eczema. My four year old suffers from it and I have been trying to find the right lotion for her. I'll have to look into this honey! Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS on your precious baby girl. They are the biggest blessing one can ever have. I have three girls myself! ;D
Did you end up using it as a mask? How did it go – did you notice any differences?
